Masa is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist residing in Massachusetts, having emigrated from Japan in 2001.

As a graduate of New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) (now known as NESA at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences ), he studied Chinese style acupuncture and Herbal Medicine.

Following his graduation and licensure in 2004, he learned another 3 years as a full time apprentice under Kuwahara-sensei. Under him, Masa trained strictly in Japanese Hari style Meridian Therapy, a method featured in the non-insertion needle technique. During his apprenticeship, he had the honor of having direct hands on training from Miyawaki-sensei for Miyawaki EV Treatment (宮脇奇経治療), the late Shiomi-sensei for Tuning Ki Energy Acupuncture Method (調氣鍼法), and Tanioka-sensei for Daishi Style Pediatric Acupuncture (大師流小児鍼), late Kobayashi-sensei for ShakuJu Therapy (積聚治療). These treatment methods and apprenticeship trainings have built the foundation of his treatment style for the past 20 years.

Masa has practiced acupuncture since 2007.
